You have now entered the home of The Institute Midwest Dj/Producers Darkside, Integra and Liquid Nick.
In 2001, after dj'ing together for the last 2 years, and punishing themselves with many hours of tekno. Nick went to work on tons of mixes and a new website for the crew. Darkside and Integra decided to start writing their own tracks. Hardware was how they wanted to do it, so they started scouring ebay in search of their sound. The TR-909 came into the picture, followed by the TB-303, TR606, JP-8080, and Juno 106, beside an array of various compressors, eq's, effects, mixers, and a handful of distortion pedals! With much help from Institue West Coast owner/founder M. Nadon (John Holman), the boys set out on their track making mission, with all of their early productions done 100% live p.a. style! They then moved into the pc realm, which opened the door to multi-track recording, and ultimately a more polished sound, and better productions all around!
As of now the site is going threw a major overhaul. We are developing a site that is easier to use and that will run faster. Our goal is still to provide mixes and tracks produced by the crew and our affiliates.
Check out the new idea we are working for our productions section. Using soundcloud plugins the page is totally interactive and allows for sharing on all social networks.
